Joseph A. Houck Construction Company Inc. owner, Joe Houck, came to Knoxville, TN approximately nine and a half years ago. Having just graduated from The Ohio State University with Bachelors and Associates degree in Science of Agriculture, he moved to Knoxville to take a job at Willow Creek Golf Club as an assistant superintendent. Staying there for two years, he was looking around for a superintendent position, but took an offer from John Testerman as a construction superintendent in Whittington Creek.

Joe had years of experience remodeling while growing up, anything from offices to Victorian houses. Adding to the years of experience he got growing up, he got what he feels, was the best hands on experience you can get from a builder, while working for John Testerman.

Looking to move on once again, Joe decided to start up his own company. He started building in Mallard Bay in 2003, winning the gold award in the parade of homes that year with his entry. Joe has built a number of houses in Mallard Bay ranging in price from $435,000 on up to $2.5 million. He has also built houses in Montgomery Cove, Casa Del Lago, Coulter Shoals and now Preston Park.

Joe is a very conscientious individual when building houses. Building houses that he can feel comfortable standing behind for years. Joe feels it's a lot easier to put the extra money into the house in the beginning then to have to do it later. The houses Joe builds has a lot of extras, including insulation, framing lumber, electrical, security and trim material, knowing that the houses will stand the test of time.
